Abstract

Introduction: The LGTBIQ+ population lives with a high risk of discrimination and aggression in different environments. Intersectional analysis supported by statistical segmentation tools can help to recognize the characteristics of subgroups within this population. Method: An analysis was made based on data from the characterization of the LGTBIQ+ population of Valledupar in 2024 using descriptive and multivariate statistics applying Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) and the k-means classification method. Results: 312 people participated. High proportions of discrimination in different contexts (69,87%) and sexual abuse (65,38%) were found. The ACM revealed that what tended to distinguish participants most was the experience of discrimination or aggression in institutional settings and aggression by third parties. In turn, the K-means analysis  showed three subgroups that are distinguished by the degree of severity of the experience of discrimination and aggression. Conclusions: The LGTBIQ+ population has suffered to varying degrees from discrimination and aggression, particularly a subgroup in which there is the larger group of trans people.
