Adopción del rol del cuidador familiar en uso de medicamentos: revisión integrativa

Resumen

Se realizó una revisión integrativa descriptiva cuyo objetivo fue explorar la literatura sobre el desempeño del rol de cuidadores familiares respecto al uso de medicamentos a sus familiares con enfermedad crónica no transmisible (ECNT). Se buscó en bases de datos los términos MeSH y DeCS drug therapy, drug administration, medication adherence, role adoption, family caregiver y chronic disease, en publicaciones entre 2010 y 2020. Como resultado se seleccionaron y analizaron 27 artículos y se determinaron tres núcleos temáticos: 1) respuestas ante el rol del cuidador; 2) organización del rol y gestión del cuidador y 3) ejecución y desempeño del rol en el uso de medicamentos. Se concluye que conectar recursos de aprendizaje, organizar sus actividades y volverse hábil para responder a las necesidades farmacológicas de su familiar son estrategias que evidencian la adopción del rol del cuidador en la administración de medicamentos.
