Abstract
By this article, is intended to begin the process of discussion at local and regional levels about the various developments on the issue of quality in the provision of health services in Colombia. Analyzing among others, the methodological structure in which supports the General Social Security System on Health - SOGCS of Colombia and the skill level achieved by this. Following this purpose, a description of the information provided by the Ministry of Social Protection, which enabled the management of health care providers; to be the primary objective to provide information to agents of the system on the existence of basic conditions for ensure quality in the provision of services of the Service Institutions Health - IPS and Business Plans Benefit Administrators - EAPB, in order to improve their decision-making and thus realizing the process of assurance quality. Conscious that this is a topic of great interest and climax at the national level, due to the presence of challenges such as: accessibility, timeliness, safety, relevance and continuity; fundamental principles for the implementation of the standard in the provision of health services . Which actually requires new visions of leadership, gradual awareness, and attitudinal changes within the system actors (Government, Service Providers and Users of Health) in order to achieve efficiencies in the process of audit in health services and introducing the culture of self-assessment and quality management based on facts and verifiable data.
